What is under eye filler?
Under eye filler, also called tear trough filler, uses a small amount of dermal filler to improve hollowing beneath the eyes. Where the shadow is caused by lost volume, softening the hollow can reduce the look of dark circles and tiredness.
The under-eye area is delicate and not every dark circle is caused by volume loss — pigmentation or thin skin can play a part too. Dr Abes assesses this carefully and, where filler is not the right answer, may suggest other options such as the Collagen Cocktail for under eyes, Skin Boosters or his Dark Circle Program.

Tear trough filler is priced for up to 1ml. For dark circles that need more than filler, Dr Abes may recommend the Collagen Cocktail for under eyes or a bespoke Dark Circle Program.

How much is the consultation?
Consultations with Dr Abes are £50. If you decide to go ahead with a treatment, the £50 is deducted from the treatment cost.
Am I suitable for under eye filler?
Under eye filler is usually considered for hollowing caused by lost volume. Dark circles caused by pigmentation or thin skin may respond better to other treatments, which Dr Abes will explain.
Treatment is only for adults over 18 and is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Some medical conditions and medicines may also affect suitability, so Dr Abes reviews your medical history before recommending anything.
Does it hurt?
Most people find it manageable. Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and Dr Abes will talk you through how he keeps you comfortable.
Is there any downtime?
Many people return to their usual day soon after. The skin under the eyes is delicate, so swelling and bruising can be more noticeable here; they usually settle, and Dr Abes will give you aftercare advice.
How long does under eye filler last?
Results usually last several months, depending on the product and your own body. Dr Abes will explain what to expect for you.
What are the side effects and risks?
Swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness where the treatment was given can occur and usually settle on their own. Rare complications are possible with any injectable treatment; Dr Abes explains these, and how they are managed, at your consultation.
What is the review appointment?
