What are dermal fillers?
Dermal fillers are gel injectables placed beneath the skin to restore lost volume and enhance facial contours. Most modern fillers are based on hyaluronic acid, a substance found naturally in the skin, and many contain a local anaesthetic to make treatment more comfortable.
Used carefully, dermal fillers can soften folds, add gentle structure and bring balance to features such as the lips, cheeks, chin and jawline. Dr Abes favours subtle refinement rather than overcorrection, so you look refreshed rather than changed.

How much is the consultation?
Consultations with Dr Abes are £50. If you decide to go ahead with a treatment, the £50 is deducted from the treatment cost.
Does dermal filler treatment hurt?
Most people find it very manageable. Many fillers contain a local anaesthetic, and Dr Abes can talk you through ways to keep you comfortable.
Is there any downtime?
Many people return to their usual day soon after treatment. Swelling, bruising and tenderness can occur and usually settle; Dr Abes will give you aftercare advice, which may include avoiding make-up, strenuous exercise and heat for a short time.
How long do dermal fillers last?
Results usually last several months, depending on the product, the area treated and your own body. Dr Abes will explain what to expect for you.
What are the side effects and risks?
Swelling, bruising, redness and tenderness where the treatment was given can occur and usually settle on their own. Rare complications are possible with any injectable treatment; Dr Abes explains these, and how they are managed, at your consultation.
Can filler be dissolved?
Hyaluronic acid fillers can usually be dissolved if needed. Lip filler dissolving is £250, and when dissolving and refilling happen on the same visit, dissolving is charged at £140.
Who is suitable for dermal fillers?
Treatment is only for adults over 18 and is not suitable during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Some medical conditions and medicines may also affect suitability, so Dr Abes reviews your medical history before recommending anything.
What is the review appointment?
All filler appointments include a free 2–4 week review / top up. It lets Dr Abes check the result once any swelling has settled.
